INDE brings AR to Benefit Cosmetics’ new product launch

Benefit Cosmetics has launched into the world of Augmented Reality, offering even deeper engagement with its customers with the launch of their new product “The POREfessional: Super Setter”. This interactive mobile augmented reality experience, developed by world-leading AR developer INDE, enables the audience the chance to interact with playful and informative virtual content at home, enabling a successful digital product launch.

After researching Benefit’s target audience in this brand experience INDE’s team decided that web-based AR is the perfect fit. “The advantages of using WebAR for this campaign vastly outweigh the challenges that we faced. Users don't have to download an app to enjoy the experience, as they can instantly get it on their mobile device by opening a URL. This provides a frictionless user journey, resulting in more visits, views, and (perhaps more importantly) click-throughs. For this kind of AR experiences, WebAR is invaluable.” commented INDE’s CTO Norbert Kovacs.

The main focus of the project is to engage with Benefit’s customers on a deeper level, which an interactive mixed reality experience - with build in advertising possibilities - is an excellent solution for. This framework enables the customer to place and play key branded content anywhere that they want simply by using their phones.

“It’s been a pleasure to collaborate with Benefit on the launch of their new product with this special take on Augmented Reality. By helping Benefit’s team explore the capabilities of the technology that fits their brand storytelling we were able to deliver a frictionless experience to their audience. Using the latest frameworks for web-based augmented reality we open the door to a different way of engagement with digital content on mobile devices.” told Xava Fragoso, CDO of INDE.
