Overview
We've created a MobileAR application for SA International called VirtualSign, that allows sign makers to test and present their designs by virtually projecting them onto any building or flat surface in real-time.

Sign-making software manufacturer SA International commissioned INDE to develop this app-based AR program, a cutting-edge visualisation tool that bridges the gap between digital and physical. VirtualSign allows sign makers to test designs by virtually projecting them onto any surface in real time with a mobile device. INDE used ARKit and ARCore frameworks to facilitate the high-quality visual tracking required to place digital content in a 3D environment with the highest accuracy.
After launching the app, users log in to their SAi account, where they can access existing signage in a gallery view. After selecting a render, they use the camera view of their mobile device to scan the surface and environment. Once the app has mapped said environment, the selected design appears on the surface, and can be rotated, moved, or scaled by the user using state-of-the-art touchscreen technology. Once the desired placement is found, a reference snapshot can be taken with a click, and the result can be easily shared via email.
