Overview

DigitalMedicine – a pharmaceutical mobile Augmented Reality app developed by INDE – provides consumers with information on medications by recognising their packaging. The AR application, commissioned by Hikma Pharmaceuticals, offers users the chance to unlock product-related digital content using the product itself as a trigger.

The AR application, commissioned by Hikma Pharmaceuticals, offers users the chance to unlock product-related digital content using the product itself as a trigger. After launching the app, by simply scanning the product packaging, general information about the medication, and a video guide are layered on top of the camera view, using Augmented Reality technology. Consumers instantly get all product-related information visualised at the touch of a button, with the least possible effort. The concept – in fact, one of INDE’s next-generation retail solutions – behind the application is VyuFinder, a unique product recognition platform that revolutionises how shoppers connect with products. Commissioned by Hikma Pharmaceuticals, INDE developed the app-based AR program DigitalMedicine as a user-friendly digital tool to help consumers identify critical information about medications from just a package or a label. Powered by INDE’s VyuFinder—one of our next-generation retail solutions—DigitalMedicine utilises the camera view on a user’s mobile device to scan pharmaceutical product packaging to provide general information, along with a comprehensive video guide, all using our state-of-the-art augmented reality technology.

By simply launching the app on any mobile device, the user can point their device’s camera at any medication package to scan it, and all product-related information appears overlaid on the camera view at the touch of a button in vivid AR.
