HeroMirror Interactive Augmented Reality Experience at the 2018 GHC
Women in Computing Celebration for Disney
Overview
For this annual three-day celebration in Houston, INDE installed one of our flagship HeroMirrors on behalf of Disney, providing a unique and immersive AR experience to guests of the celebration that embodied the spirit of the event itself.
Incorporating a wide range of characters from current and past Disney archives—including Minnie Mouse, Elastigirl, Vanellope, Shuri from Black Panther, and Rey from Star Wars—the HeroMirror treated visitors to a chance to interact with and pose for a photo alongside a famous animated character of their choice.

User Experience
Supporting a process that is end-to-end tailor-made to suit both venue and audience, INDE’S Disney HeroMirror employed its standard touchscreen interface, enabling users to select an interactive character and AR experience with the swipe of their finger.
Easy-to-follow prompts guide the user through the process of then posing for their high-resolution photo, at which point, onscreen, any one of a number of legendary Disney characters magically step into the frame with them.
A countdown timer alerts the user of the photo opportunity, and the HeroMirror instantly produces a copy- printable via standalone printer, or via email directly to the user’s phone or device.
The high-quality photos can be conveniently branded with appropriate hashtags—“#DisneyTech” and “#GHC18” in this case—to optimise drive marketing. A payment module can easily be designed to precede, or complete, the UI.
