BroadcastAR Augmented Reality Experience at Whitsunday Coast Airport in Proserpine, Queensland, Australia
Overview
Waiting for your luggage at an airport baggage carousel is usually a hassle, but not at the Whitsunday Coast Airport in Proserpine, Queensland, where passengers can now discover the wildlife of Australia, thanks to INDE's award-winning BroadcastAR experience.
Experience
In an effort to spice up the sometimes long wait for bags at baggage claim, Whitsunday Coast Airport in Prosperine, Queensland commissioned INDE to create this fully customised and totally unique BroadcastAR experience. On a large format screen, this immersive augmented reality program kept waiting passengers “wildly” entertained by surrounding them with local creatures—including dudongs, koalas, even humpback whales!—common on the continent’s east coast.
Whitsunday Coast Airport has been awarded the Innovation and Excellence Customer Experience Award at the AAA National Airport Industry Awards for this activation.
